Hosted Thai PM General Prayut Chan-o-cha to dinner last night at the Istana. He is here for his introductory visit and a Leaders’ Retreat.
We last met in KL and Langkawi in April, during the ASEAN Summit. We often find ourselves next to each other at the table, because our seating is arranged alphabetically (Philippines – Singapore – Thailand – Vietnam). So I snapped some pics of him and Mrs Prayut, which I presented to them tonight.
Singapore and Thailand celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations this year. Our people enjoy close ties. Singaporeans love Thai food. And as it is now the June school holidays, thousands of Singaporean families must be currently holidaying in Thailand!
Gen Prayut is attending a #SEAGames2015 match today. I wish Thailand every success in the Games (unless of course they are playing against Singapore :) ).
